I've just finished the pattern for the Rib & Braid Jumper, as I've decided to call the woman's version of my Sherwood child's pullover-- whew! Assembling those charts in Adobe Illustrator took longer than I care to admit, but I like the way they look much better than if I had used Stitch & Motif Maker, like I did for the original Sherwood charts. And of course the charts will end up being in easy-to-use pdf format, UNLIKE the charts from Knitty (and that's all I have to say on that subject....).
AND I decided to include lots of possibilities for customizing this pattern: thus there will be instructions for four different lengths, including vest length (upper hip); tunic; jumper/short dress (as pictured); and longer (above the knee) jumper/dress. Instructions will also be included for optional set-in full-length sleeves (the Sherwood sleeves were modified drop sleeves).
Anyhoo, I've sent it all off to the tech editor-- hooray!
The Chinese Lace Pullover is a perfect spring-into-summer project, as shown in cotton (or try a cotton/wool or cotton/linen blend). Lace borders on cuffs and lower hem flow into wide, figure-flattering ribs on the sleeves and body. Directions given for working flat OR in the round. See more patterns
